Della rides a bike!

I may worry but I can't deny that smile.
My 28 month old baby LOVE's riding with Daddy!
They rode all the way to the playground (at least 2 miles), played, then rode back.
It wasn't Della's skills on the bike that scared Daddy but her ability to follow the 'big kids' all the way to the top of the rope play structure at the playground!!!

My babe is a thrill seeker.

Easter 2014

With Della recovering from a Cold and Nana's Church obligations,
Easter at the Porter's didn't start until after naptime.
(Plus it's much nicer to hide eggs outside after the grass has dried ...just sayin')

Huck patiently waiting for his sissy to wake up ...

Sleepy girl spying her basket ...

A new friend ... "Oh Lumpy"

Then outside to find some (plastic) eggs ...

 **I SEE MORE!**

She had to circle back a second time before she spotted to egg up high.
(Note the clever use of front yard dirt piles as balance beam foundations)

Back inside to open the eggs...

Two of Della's favorite words: "cute" and "baby" ...
Cute Baby egg!

It may have been cute but that didn't stop her from eating it.

Della's first, and possibly last, peep ... those things are worse than I remember!
(Opening eggs is hot work ... note the lack of a shirt from here on out)

The sugar began to kick in ...

Back outside to burn off the sugar ...

A very good thing Nana was there to help!

 Baby (bear) ... you alright?

  Sugar makes her FLY!

It didn't take Della but a second to figure out that there were eggs to find. She ran from one egg to the next  exclaiming ... I see them, I see them! As soon as all the eggs had been collected she headed right back inside to examine her loot. The eggs were filled with crackers, rice cakes, a couple peeps, and a few chocolate eggs. The first few eggs opened contained the crackers and rice cakes which she ate up immediately until she discovered the first chocolate egg ... then each found rice cake was carefully re-hidden under half an egg shell ... there's no doubt that she's a bright girl.

***It wasn't until later that afternoon that I remembered the dress I'd bought for Della specifically for Easter pictures! [mommy fail]***

Huck is 5 months old!

Huck is 5 months old!
He's a happy baby ... except when he's not.
Over the last month Huck has learned to roll over, grab his toes, can scoot across the room leading with his face.
He started solid foods and subsequently stopped pooping!
His first two teeth came in and continues to teeth like a drooling mastiff.
Huck is a HUGE boy. He was nearly 20lbs at his 4 month appointment and we guess hes nearing 24lbs now. He's the size of many 9 - 12 month olds baby's. He's nearly outgrown the infant carseat which has us looking to bump Della into a convertible booster seat so Huck can have hers.
Huck LOVES his sister and wants so badly to play with her. I can only imagine (with trepidation) what the next 6 years will be like as Daredevil Della leads her brother into the world.
He flirts with all the ladies and wins them over with an enviable smirk and sly eyebrow arch.
Huck has a dark complexion like his mama but is built like his daddy with HUGE chest and shoulders, long torso, and short legs.

These area few of my favorite snapshots from the last month.
Huck Rainier ... we're so glad you're here!
