March, March, Marching along with Huck

Huck!
We'll just simplify the statement and say he's a chunk.
A solid chunk of handsome.

Visiting daddy at work ... the State wrestling tournament
Huck had  no fear of the huge crowd and at one point had a group of ladies playing peek-a-boo with him from the stands. Such a charmer.

Huck can now pick up and carry the stools where ever he wants.
We find them all. over. the. house.
He hasn't quite mastered doorknobs yet ... thank goodness.
Huck got his first helmet! I think we'll be needing it.

Thank goodness we have very friendly pets.
This particular cat has always enjoyed 'aggressive' petting
so it's no surprise he was purring loudly as Huck manhandled him.
This cat also has well honed escape and hiding skills ... he doesn't always let Huck catch him.

Huck is NOT a good garden helper.
He is pretty good with a shovel though.
And he LOVES dirt.

He discovered this pile of loose dirt and promptly plopped down on his belly
and began to 'swim' through the dirt. Such a boy.

Watching daddy in the yard just prior to nap time (i.e. clean baby)

Sometimes when Huck sneaks into the laundry room and shuts the door
he calls for help from the cat door
so adorably funny

 Favorite food = olives
He can eat an entire can which results in a pretty scary diaper the following day
Huck has discovered books!!!!
We often find him squirreled away with a picture book, happy as a clam. Yay!!

Huck loves planes, trains, and automobiles.
Also lawnmowers, yard tools, sticks, and dirt.
He does not like ...
the exterior dryer vent and refuses to be in the back yard when it's pumping out warm air.
(Della on the other hand loves the dryer vent and the warm air.)

He's more of a demolition crew than a conductor.

 Huck loves popcorn night!

First real word aside from MAMAMAMA!  ... Apple.
I know there are several other words in your vocabulary but everything still sounds like a growl.
My baby boy thinks he's a bear ... Grrrr!
Bigger. Faster. Stronger.

March, March, Marching along with Della

To say that my babies are growing is an understatement.
I'm not joking when I say that Della outgrew her 4T pants overnight.
I swear her selection of pants were long enough the day before!

Della may be growing up quickly but at 3.25 years old her 'baby teddy' remains her right hand pal.
Popsicles are her favorite outdoor playtime snack.
She discovered her first worm and then promptly tried to squash it.

Every once in awhile she'll stop talking mid-sentence and we'll look back to find her asleep.
What's amazing is she'll often wake up and pick up where her sentence left off!
Rarely she'll select something other than a princess costume. This tool belt option was too funny.

This Spring Della is learning more about gardening.
So far we've had the best success by describing all the seeds, sprouts, and buds as 'babies'
as babies are not to be picked, poked, or stabbed.
Apparently Della can relate to a 'baby' plant needing gentle care.
All other plants and flowers are fair game ...
which explains the scattering of daffodil flowers all over our front yard.

This girl has crazy, fast, fearless, scootering skills!

She still loves her bath time although not as fond of sharing it with her brother
(who hogs the spigot and doesn't like it when Della pours water on him)
We are securely entrenched in her Duplo phase.
Building blocks every night before bed!
(also, play-doh, viewing mama's jewelry box, and jumping on the bed)

Keep growing baby girl.
Bigger. Stronger. Faster.

Chambers Bay 02.2015

Chambers Bay is one of our favorite sunny day excursions
It's actually a golf course but there's a huge public area with trails a huge green space and a beach
Inspired by the rare sunny warm weather we adventured out
and for the first time let Della take her scooter for a 'real' drive

Parking lot preparations ... adjusting the trike for our Very Big Boy

Once the safety gear's all on she rolled out!

Della was a TROOPER! she pushed herself all the way up a huge incline
( and didn't complain when mama acted as her brake on the way back down)

Rest Stop

My favorite shot of the Day
Mr. Very Big Busy Boy
(15 months)

Flashback ... Della's First Trip to Chambers Bay at 18 months

Crossing the Bridge to the Beach

SAND ... need we say more?

Hard to See but this girl runs with her Tongue out

Action Shot

Ummm Daddy ... keep an eye on Della
who promptly took off her clothes and headed for the water

Throwing Rocks ... still working on this.

Loving the Sun

Bringing in the Big Dogs to Pile on the Gravel

It was a very good day
(until their hunger and exhaustion caught up on the way home)
