Huck and the Garden Hose

I can't describe how much joy this little boy brings to our lives.
His curious, helpful, opinionated, and stubborn personality keeps us on our toes.
I must have taken dozens of pictures of this moment and yet
I couldn't narrow them down any farther than these seven.
This is a permanent memory. One for all time.

Keep on doing what you're doing Huck.

Easter 2015

Della LOVES anticipation.
We've discovered that knowing the 'plan' helps her get through nap time and bed time
so we often talk about what we would like to do, or are going to do, the next day ... anticipation.

This morning she woke up extra early as we'd discussed Easter and what to expect.
This is her "you mean this is for me" face.

We had to pause and grab Huck before diving into the baskets.

Huck couldn't quite figure out the plastic eggs.

 Lollipops for breakfast ... sure!

 Dressed and On the hunt!

Huck was not convinced he needed a basket.
He'd make room for a new egg by simply setting down the old one.

I tried to explain the logic of a large volume egg transfer container

Della chose her own basket from Goodwill ...
she has fully grasped the concept of 'large volume'.

One egg in - one egg out - one egg in the mouth

Pink princess eggs ... Della's favorite!

In the weeds ... a dedicated egg hunter

I'm sure this picture will make me cry in a few years ... my babies are so big!

 Classic big sister maneuver
stealing the eggs from Huck's basket

And then stealing his basket altogether

 Opening the loot

Della also has Dedication
She sat and carefully opened every single egg
(it should be noted that her favorite YouTube shows are "Disney surprise egg".
Where grown people produce videos of themselves opening plastic eggs
filled with Disney toys, candy, and other marketable surprises.
She loves the anticipation.)

Poop.

Some days are just poopy days.

Yesterday evening I picked up my darling boy
only to discover he'd blown out his diaper
after removing the poop from my arm,
the baby, the floor, and the trike he'd been riding
Huck got a much needed bath.

While washing the baby I was notified of more poop
Della had reasoned that 'being a baby'
and blowing out her own diaper
just like Huck
would result in special attention

More poop on the floor,
on the bouncy toy,
on the Della ... legs, feet, back.

I don't think she got the parental reaction she was expecting
Let's just say it was a poopy evening.

It's a very good thing these kids are cute ... and we love them.

 FYI ...
Della can no longer be referred to as a 'baby'.
Hence-more she is our 'little girl'.
