Rubber Hoses

Some forgotten toy left us with a length of rubber hose which was rediscovered one evening and caused big sibling drama

 -- one hose -- two kids --

mama had a brilliant moment and cut the hose into two pieces

Then both kids were happy and busy for hours and mama was thrilled she'd reduced the safety risk that the previously 3ft of rubber hose presented!

Weeks later and those hoses still spark so much imaginative play! Everything from walruses tusks and cats whiskers to firefighters with their hoses!

 This boy has some STRONG teeth!

Zoo Lights 2015

Shortly after Christmas we finally made our annual visit to Pt. Defiance Zoo Lights. 

But really, the trip turned out to be more about the carousel instead of the lights. 

These kids take their carousel seriously. 

Della was able to claim her favorite 'golden horse'

We were very impressed with her self-selected cold weather outfit.

Huck isn't so particular about his mount but he does take carousel riding very seriously!

 Who knew that the day's AFTER Christmas would be have the biggest crowds? 

But it was still a nice way to end 2015.
