Water & Waders ... Dash Point in November

Previously, for our Iron Springs Resort adventure, we'd attempted to locate quality rain pants for the kiddos. I'll admit that I'm sorely disappointed in Washington's retailers!
After stopping at no less than 4 name-brand outdoor stores we failed to locate children's rain pants.
Soon after our trip I was commiserating with a fellow parent who recommended Oakiwear waders.
This mid-November trip to Dash Point State Park was our first adventure with these wonderful kid sized -- water proof - awesome adventure pants!

We changed into the waders in our van as it was POURING down rain but once fully outfitted we headed to the beach! The Tide was just low enough. The wind was relatively calm. And, although raining, the temperature was perfect Washington 45 degrees!

I sure do love my sassy kiddos!

Both Della & Huck had a fantastic time wadding in the water. They stayed perfectly warm and dry.
Note that Huck has a toy car in each hand!  It took quite some time before he released the tiny vehicles to the safety of mama's pockets!

Della and I taught Huck about turning over rocks to locate 'crabbies'!

Video clips of us finding 'crabbies'

Check out those waders! Simply Awesome!
Della discovered a 'football cap' ... otherwise known as a bottle cap.
Not sure why she associated it with football ...

  Two of my favorite pictures.
Huck pointing at the Ocean and saying 'water'.
And a sneak-peek into Della's future ... she is absolutely stunning!
After all our hiking up and down the beach, rock turning, and shallow water wading,
the kids settle down to play in the sand ... together ... at least for a few minutes.

What you don't get to see is me holding each kid under the beach shower to rinse off all the sand and salt before returning to the van. We've worn them several times now at home simply playing in our muddy winter yard. I highly recommend Oakiwear outdoor gear.

This was a wonderful mama adventure, one that I will remember always.
My babies, young and loving life at the beach.
