Weekly Randomness at 8 Months!

Deadlines and training at work apparently limit my picture taking abilities although I believe I've managed to scrounge up a few that tell the tale of Della's week.
By the way, Thursday was Della's 8 month birthday! That's all I can say about that as I'll start to cry if I dwell on how quickly she is growing up. 8 months!

Shopping Carts
This is an example of the difference between moms and dads. Mommy takes the time to either sanitize the shopping car and/or install a comfy germ barrier. Daddy simply sets the carseat in the shopping basket and props it up a little so Della gets the best view. Honestly, Della doesn't seem to have a preference just so long as she can join the shopping trip.

Mommy's Method

Daddy's Method

 Bath Time
Every evening Della enjoys some play time in the bathtub and apparently this daily ritual is of high priority. If we leave the bathroom door open she promptly hightails towards the tub.  She hasn't quite mastered opening the shower door herself although she did give it her best try.

2nd Gear
Della has found her crawling second gear. She often shifts into second gear when  running for an open bathroom door or chasing the kitten or running after her daddy. Anywhich way you look at it, this is the most common view mommy gets ... Della crawling away.

Unless of course I have her trapped in her bumper car. She LOVES the walker and spends alot of her time at providing well narrated guided tours of Nana's house.

Lambsy Coat
Last week I made a spontaneous purchase of the cutest baby lambsy fleece coat. It has little lambsy ears and a little lambsy tail and is super soft with satin lining ... adorable. Unfortunately Della doesn't want to be a lamb and no matter how this picture may appear in reality she was screaming and attempting to pull off the cute little lambsy coat. I'll keep my fingers crossed that cooler weather will change her mind.

this is not a happy face
 Kitten Playtime
If you hadn't heard, we adopted a kitten. I know that this is not suggested behavior for new parents but so far it appears to be working out. This kitten is amazing with Della (parental supervision included.) This picture may appear to be Della playing with the kitten ... which from the kittens perspective it is. From Della's perspective, the stick attached to the feathered cat toy makes the perfect chew toy. The process of getting just-the-right-bite results in a flailing feather and a very happy kitten. They played this way for quite awhile.

 Weekends
Up until now Della has NOT been a snuggler. She'd prefer it if your hands didn't touch her when nursing. I'm sure she'd levitate to the boob if she could. But just this last week Della has seemingly changed her mind ... snuggling is preferred, but only when she chooses. She lets you know a snuggle is required by crawling up and nuzzling/grabbing at you. So, Saturday afternoon I was able to enjoy a little snuggling with my baby girl. It only lasted a few minutes but I enjoyed every second.
