Della’s been a busy girl … or rather we’ve been busy parents keeping up with our baby.
Eating …

Della does love food. Aside from nursing she enjoys rice crackers, fruit placed in teething bags, baby food in pouches, and green juice for breakfast every morning. She has learned to feed herself. This method usually requires some cleanup by mom but she sure has fun trying to get the food into her mouth … and onto her hands, her clothes, her face, mommy’s clothes, mommy’s hair … you get the picture.
Sleeping …
Overall Della had a great week of nighttime sleeping. We are maintaining a 12am and 4:30am feeding cycle. This works well for both us of as I can bring Della to bed with me at the 4:30 wake-up and get in an hour of snuggling before I start my day. I have to steal my snuggling when I can as Della isn’t one to hold still or be coddled when she’s awake. This 90-degree side-lying position is her new favorite.
Playing …
It’s what babies do, they play. Della has an odd fascination with dresser drawer pull. One evening this week she spent over 15 minutes grabbing and dropping the handle. First with one hand, then the other hand, from her belly, and on her back … apparently a drawer pull is interesting from all angles.
Della also really likes her piano. For a $3.00 goodwill purchase this little plastic piano is worth every penny. Della has been playing with it every evening for two weeks now and still shows no sign of moving on.
And Della has begun expressing an interest in our pets. Here Patches is hedging his bets against a soon to be mobile baby. He's in for a shock once she really starts crawling.
Weekend Adventures …
On Saturday we headed north to Snoqualmie falls. Unfortunately the viewpoints were either under construction or packed solid with people (condensed due to the construction) so no pictures of Della in front of the waterfall but we had a nice walk in the beautiful weather anyway.

| Papa! |
On Sunday we headed south to Chambers Creek Dog Park which is actually a HUGE park built by the Chambers Bay golf club on an old sand and gravel pit. The park is beautiful and very well maintained. Mainly green space and trails; it also has several off-leash dog areas including a beach. Poppi was THRILLED to join us on the adventure and made use of his freedom to get in some swimming. Della also had her first taste of Puget Sound salty air although her favorite part of the trip was watching the trains rumble thru the park (an amazing bridge over the tracks provides fantastic viewing) and watching the dogs come and go. Unfortunately we forgot to charge the camera so our pictures are limited ... I'll get a handle on this blogging thing yet!
Baby Carharts ...
Only because it was a chilly day and I was digging around for something warm for Della to wear ... I found a Carhart Overall! This may be the only time she wears it but isn't she cute???
Weekly Welcome …
Of course I can’t forget to include a picture of Della welcoming me home. Thanks Nana for taking such good care of Della during the day!
