Baby Basketball

You had to know this would happen. Tall athletic parents ... isn't it mandatory we at least expose our offspring to the sports we excelled at (by we, I mean mama).

I picked this hoop up at goodwill for a whopping $4! It's in excellent condition and with a couple of batteries the crowd will stand and cheer when you push on the hoop ... what more could you ask for?

Both Stark & I were surprised at how quickly Della picked up on the idea of putting the ball through the hoop. I only had to show her once before she took ownership of the ball and started playing.

In typical toddler fashion the ball often when into the hoop and then back up out of the hoop ... a girl has to start somewhere.

Once papa added new batteries she spent quite awhile simply pushing down on the hoop to make the crowd rise and cheer. But then she went back to shooting the ball. Her technique was a little odd as she'd walk across the room and try to pass the ball to the ever cautious watching cat, then look over her shoulder, spy the hoop, then stagger back across the room to dunk the ball. She did this several times to her parents amusement. Sorry for the poor pictures, I didn't want to interrupt the game to get the perfect shot.

My coordinated, athletic little girl is predestined to play sports ... the question is ... what will she choose?
