It wasn't officially her first time in the snow but it may be remembered as such since we (1) brought a camera and (2) Della interacted with the white stuff. The very first thing Della did, once we had her bundled up and out of the warm confines of the car, was to smile and stick out her tongue.
We traveled up to our local ski hill, Crystal Mountain, and not only found snow but found very frigid conditions. It was COLD but that didn't seem to bother Della or the multitude of other small walking puffballs (kids) roaming the slope. Is there anything cuter than a swarm of toddlers bundled up to the point of bursting and struggling to walk thru snow or slide on ski's? I think this may be near the top of the cute meter ... and yet I didn't get a picture!
She refused to keep her gloves on. We are now on a mission for those glove strings our parents used when we were little. It appears they've gone out of fashion ... time to bring them back.
This was our attempt at a Holiday picture. Unfortunately it was also the moment when Della's hands got just a little too cold and Poppy tried to run her over setting off a sobbing get me out of here tantrum.
The last shot before crying commenced.
How do you discipline a dog who's loving life outside of the backyard for the first time in a couple weeks?
Overall Della LOVED the snow and being outdoors. I'm now on a mission for better winter clothes so we can do it again soon.
